how can you not like Colin Farrell at this angle?

How is it that I stumble upon movies from people I like, directors/writers I like without following the proper paper trail? It would have been so easy for me to type Writer/Director William Monahan’s name into the interwebs, and more specifically the IMDB search bar, to find “London Boulevard.” I could have been enjoying this movie two years ago. Either that, or I could have typed Colin Farrell’sname in there and been just as pleased.

I don’t see how I can’t give this movie the instant 5 stars, especially since this review is hot off the presses, just minutes after the credits have scrolled. From the mind-bowels of the writer of such greats as “The Departed” and “Body of Lies,” comes a super rad, pretty violent, and shockingly deep story that develops Colin Farrell’s “Mitchel,” a con recently out of prison, looking to live the straight life. He plays it well, and is aided by a great supporting cast including Keira Knightly, and David Thewlis.

Granted, the Cover is pretty generic-looking and doesn’t offer much, which is sad because that’s often one of the primary deciding factors when thumbing through netflix’s current offerings. Though a truly amazing find, I might just give this one slightly below 5 stars, because it wasn’t completely flawless. I may be cursed with watching primarily British films, but it’s probably just as well. This completely fits what Indistinct Chatter stands for. Pop Culture for normal people. And while I won’t tag this post with ‘Good Generic Films for Normal People,’ It does deserve a place amongst my favorite blockbuster movies.
